The MAC Paste Prep System crushes down large nuggets of paste to help prevent line stoppages which occur when large chunks of solid paste try to pass through the hopper and cause continuous strip or grids to tear or jam under the hopper. The paste drops from the mixing cone into the paste prep system, crushing the nuggets as they pass between the counter-rotating rolls. Then the processed paste is scraped off the rolls and dropped into the paster hopper. The maximum amount of paste that can be processed depends on the gap between the rolls and the maximum speed the rolls can run without the paste losing adherence to the rolls. All control buttons are mounted on the main unit, including a variable speed dial. The Paste Prep System mounts to the base of the cone feeder with custom designed brackets. Mounted on a pivot, the cone feeder can rotate out from over the hopper so the Paste Prep System can be accessed, and cleaned or the hopper can be lifted.
