MAC Engineering is proud to be a member of Consortium for Battery Innovation (aka CBI)
The Consortium for Battery Innovation is the only global pre-competitive research organization promoting innovation in lead batteries for energy storage, motive and automotive applications.
The Consortium is led by scientists with extensive expertise in the lead and lead battery industry. Their expert advisory group is made up of senior battery scientists from across the globe.
The Consortium for Battery Innovation has over 120 members and partners from across the globe. CBI’s membership categories include battery manufacturers, industry suppliers (such as MAC Engineering), research and testing institutes, universities, commodity traders, end users and lead producers.
CBI offers its members the opportunity to be at the forefront of cutting-edge research projects focused on advancing lead battery performance in innovative applications with some of the world’s leading research institutions. Members also have the opportunity to participate in government-funded projects co-ordinated by CBI, and can specify support for specific areas such as energy storage demonstration projects.
All members of CBI can submit project proposals and receive early notice of technical advances in lead battery technology that are likely to translate into commercial applications.
Technical workshops and meetings are held throughout the year in North and South America, Europe and Asia, facilitating the sharing of technical information and networking with the global industry. Collaborative workshops are also organized in conjunction with end-users such as car manufacturers.
The Consortium holds technical meetings and workshops, attends conferences and exhibitions relevant to the lead battery industry, produces scientific papers and visits energy storage installations utilizing lead battery technology.
